Presented by Pamela Hetherington and Take It Away Dance Productions, the most innovative tap dance company in Philadelphia, Meet Us At The Corner is an unprecedented evening of tap, ballet and jazz music.
The evening celebrates the choreography of Dorothy Wasserman, (Tap, The Movie) and Elisabeth Holowchuk, (Suzanne Farrell Ballet), and centers around the restaged work, "Meet Us At the Corner," a collaborative piece for six tap dancers and four ballet dancers. The show will also include a performance of Wasserman’s “#holdontoyourhats," as well as "Shim Sham Variations," her signature work. Rounding out the bill are contemporary tap works by Take It Away Dance.
Musicians accompanying the evening are Patrick Fink (piano), Jonathan Katz (saxophone), Nicholas Krolak (bass), Claudio de Pujadas (drums), Claire Reynolds (guitar) and Jessi Teich (vocals). This project is partially funded by Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Barish Rosenthal LLC.
Two showings: 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Run-time 60 minutes.
